My Bulletin Board: Tribal
My Bulletin Board is a new feature based on my inspiration files. I collect hundreds and hundreds of images daily and sometimes I notice a theme-y trend. I’d love to share my inspiration with you this way, and then create an outfit based on the bulletin board.
This board was inspired by the home of one of my new favorite artists, Francesca DiMattio (you can see images from her home in the upper and lower right corners). I love all the little tribal elements around her home, and I’ve noticed them popping up in the style realm as well. Here is my tribal inspired bulletin board:
Clockwise: DiMattio’s living room, Bull By The Horns earrings, Dries Van Noten Spring 2010, UO Tribal Rug, Deepa Gurnani headband, DiMattio’s jewelry (same link as above), Out of Africa photo, L.A.M.B. Vail heel
Get The Look
Outfit #1 is for the tribal-shy. Just a touch of tribal influence with a patterned short and a statement necklace is trendy but not overboard. A peach colored cardigan adds a feminine element as do a sweet and simple pair of studded flat sandals.
Outfit #2 is definitely a look that will make a statement. A boldly patterned dress is enough on its own, but I added some thick gold hoops and gold embellished gladiator sandals for a casual-glam look.
What Do You Think?
Would you wear tribal? What would you put on your own bulletin board? Requests for future boards? I’d love to hear from you!
